Sentence Case Converter
Automatically convert any text to proper sentence case — only the first letter of each sentence is capitalized. Ideal for fixing ALL CAPS pastes or reformatting paragraphs quickly.
What Does This Tool Do?
Sentence case means writing like a normal sentence — the first word starts with a capital letter, and everything else is lowercase (except proper nouns you add yourself). This tool takes any text — whether it's ALL CAPS, ALL lowercase, or mixed up — and reformats it so each sentence starts with a capital and the rest is lowercase. It detects sentence endings automatically by looking for periods, exclamation marks, and question marks.
Key Features
How to Use This Tool
- Paste your text (in any case — ALL CAPS, lowercase, or mixed) into the Input box.
- The tool automatically detects each sentence and capitalizes its first letter.
- Review the output and copy it with the Copy button.
How It Works
The tool first converts your entire text to lowercase. Then it scans for sentence boundaries — the very beginning of the text, and any letter that immediately follows a period (.), exclamation mark (!), or question mark (?). Each sentence-starting letter is then switched to uppercase.
Common Use Cases
Frequently Asked Questions
Will it capitalize proper nouns like names?
Not automatically — the tool only capitalizes the first word of each sentence. You'll need to capitalize proper nouns yourself after converting.
Does it handle multiple paragraphs?
Yes — every sentence across all paragraphs is detected and processed independently.
