Password Strength Checker
Analyze any password's strength with a score, entropy calculation, and specific feedback on what makes it strong or weak.
What Does This Tool Do?
Not all passwords are equally secure. This tool analyzes your password against multiple criteria — length, character variety, use of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols — and gives you a score from 0-100 with a strength label (Very Weak to Very Strong) plus specific checkpoints showing exactly what's passing and what could be improved.
Key Features
How to Use This Tool
- Type your password in the input field.
- The strength analysis updates live as you type.
- Read the checklist to see exactly which criteria pass or fail.
- Improve your password until you reach a Strong or Very Strong rating.
How It Works
The password is tested against 9 criteria, each contributing points to the total score. Length is the biggest factor — longer passwords are exponentially harder to crack. Entropy is estimated by multiplying length by log₂ of the character set size.

Frequently Asked Questions
What score should I aim for?
70+ is "Strong" and suitable for most purposes. 85+ is "Very Strong" and recommended for sensitive accounts. Below 50 is genuinely weak.
Can I trust this tool with real passwords?
The analysis runs entirely in your browser — nothing is ever sent to any server. However, for best security hygiene, avoid entering your actual passwords into any online tool.
