What Does This Tool Do?
When you have a list of numbers and need to understand what they tell you statistically, this tool calculates all the key measurements at once. Paste in your numbers and instantly see the average, the middle value, the most common value, the spread, and the standard deviation — everything you need for basic data analysis.
Key Features
How to Use This Tool
- Paste your numbers into the Input box (one per line or comma-separated).
- Click Convert to calculate all statistics.
- View the complete statistical breakdown in the Output.
How It Works
Numbers are extracted from your input, parsed as decimal values, and sorted. Mean is calculated as the sum divided by count. Median is the middle value (or average of two middle values). Mode is the most frequent value. Standard deviation measures the average distance from the mean.
Common Use Cases
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between mean and median?
The mean is the arithmetic average (sum divided by count). The median is the middle value when numbers are sorted. The median is more robust to outliers than the mean.
What does standard deviation tell me?
Standard deviation measures how spread out numbers are from the mean. A small standard deviation means numbers cluster closely around the average; a large one means they're more spread out.
